Now that Jeff Leatham is one of the world's premier floral designers, his parents in Odgen remember the teenager who wasn't particularly interested in helping with yard work.

The Ogden native's designs are featured in a new TV series called "Flowers Uncut," which premieres Wednesday on the TLC cable network at 11 p.m.

"My wife and I will sit and watch TV and see commercials for Jeff's show and turn to each other and say, 'I can't believe that's our kid,'" said his proud father Larry Leatham. "I think he mowed our lawn once. I don't think he ever planted a flower. Now he knows more about it than I ever thought."

While Jeff Leatham may not have been eager to mow the lawn, still he says he was inspired by his

father's love of landscaping and floral design, a knack that was passed down from his grandmother.

A teacher and former Ogden High School principal, Larry Leatham tended an immaculate yard.
