Panthers may go deep in playoffs

West • It was a fantastic regular season for the Panthers, finishing 12-3-1 and 8-2 in region. Graysee Murphy had 20 goals and Taylor French had 13. Rose Nelson put up 6.5 clean sheets. Their goal differential of 66 on the season is third-best in 5A. It's a team with a ton of firepower and decent, if not solid, defense. A deep playoff run is well within reach.

Leopards turn around season of uncertainty

East • The Leopards are poised for a deep playoff run after 12-3-1 regular season that was capped with a Region 6 championship. What started as a season of uncertainty turned into a familiarly successful campaign. East will once again be aiming for state crown. The good news? Bonneville — the team that has knocked East out of the playoffs the past three seasons — is on the other side of the bracket.

Rams fail to score big win for playoffs

Highland • The Rams needed a big win over Clearfield on Oct. 6 to make the playoffs and weren't able to come up with it. The game ended in a 0-0 draw, meaning that Clearfield's 4-2 win over the Rams Sept. 27 kept Highland out of the playoffs. Ana Moran and Kate Orchard led the team with six goals each, with Jade Larsen adding five and Amanda Burkley chipping in four.

Bulldogs fall after strong preseason

Judge Memorial • The Bulldogs enjoyed the talents of Danielle Gaztambide this season, a future Utah State Aggie and one of the state's most prolific scorers. Her 24 goals were second-most in 3A. Adrienne Burr scored seven goals of her own. They struggled to a 4-6 Region 10 campaign after a strong preseason.

Miners try to ride scorers into playoffs

Park City • The Miners earned a second-place finish in Region 10 with an 8-8 overall record. Park City will try to ride the scoring of Maggie Reigelsperger and Jessica Dancy, who scored 11 and 9 goals respectively to the 3A quarterfinals and beyond. Four other players-Alyson Casey, Anneke Esinger, Taylor Hodgson and Rachael Patez-each scored four goals this season.

Winged Lions look to make tourney noise

Rowland Hall • The Winged Lions limped into the playoffs with two straight losses to Waterford and St. Joseph but could still make some noise in the tournament. Anna Jobe scored nine goals this season, Katie White had six goals, and Jess Strerrett scored five times.
