Archaeology Week kicks off in Utah

Mary Emmaline Hansen, 8, tries grinding corn using a mano and matate (ancient stone tools) at the archaeology open house Saturday at the Utah State History Museum at the Rio Grande Depot. The event was part of Archaeology Week activities that began Saturday and will run through May 12. At the open house, children participated in hands-on activities with an archaeological theme.
